Expect increased traffic on and around the Fairfax Campus. The event will take place from 3鈥10 p.m. in Parking Lots L and A (near EagleBank Arena).

William Reeder, the founding dean of George Mason鈥檚 College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), died April 12, 2025, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80.

George Mason 麻豆国产鈥檚 Outstanding Achievement Awards celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of faculty and staff in support of the university's values and mission. Awards are sponsored by Human Resources and other university departments. A ceremony honoring this year鈥檚 awardees was hosted on the Fairfax Campus on Tuesday, April 15.

Maurice 鈥淢orrie鈥 Scherrens, a beloved educator, collegiate athletics official, and transformational leader in higher education, died on April 6, 2025, at the age of 76. He served as president of Newberry College in South Carolina and previously as senior vice president and chief operating officer at George Mason 麻豆国产.

After 30 years of outstanding service to George Mason 麻豆国产鈥檚 health administration and policy programs, distinguished leader and cherished member of the College of Public Health P.J. Maddox will retire at the end of the 2024-25 academic year. Maddox, who has served for 20 years as chair of the Department of Health Administration and Policy and is co-director of the Virginia Center for Health Workforce, leaves behind a legacy of unparalleled dedication, innovation, and impact.
