Four faculty in Mason's College of Humanities and Social Sciences have been awarded grant awards from the National Endowment for the Humanities, totaling more than $600,000.

Alaina Ruffin will not be the first, second, or third, but fourth person in her family to graduate from George Mason Â鶹¹ú²ú. Her mother and two older cousins graduated from Mason in 2000, 2001, and 2013 respectively.

Mason professor Andrew Peterson and his colleagues at the Â鶹¹ú²ú of Pennsylvania have received a $3.1 million grant funded by the National Institute on Aging to investigate how it can improve health outcomes for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

PSYC 461 Advanced Topics in Human Factors is an interactive, hands-on curriculum that challenges students to solve real-life issues offered for the first time in the spring 2023 semester.

Located in George Mason Â鶹¹ú²ú’s Special Collections Research Center in Fenwick Library, this collection consists of the papers of the Nobel Prize-winning economist James M. Buchanan and documents his career and research from the mid-20th century through the early 2000s.

In May, a cohort of 20 selected AI and Tech fellows gathered at Mason Square for Mason’s AI Strategies first AI and Tech Policy Summer Institute.

Hank Jones' writing credits that include shows such as Motown Magic, Family Reunion, The Neighborhood, Grown-ish, Bel-Air, Truth Be Told, The Game, Black-ish, The New Edition Story, and Dear White People. He is currently a writer and producer on ABC’s Will Trent.

Through a grant from Arts Fairfax, George Mason Â鶹¹ú²ú students and faculty are helping youth in the Fairfax Detention Center express themselves through poetry.

Jeffery W. Keller, Mason alum and high school history teacher, is currently pursuing his PhD in education and is the 2024 Virginia Teacher of the Year.
