The George Mason �鶹���� community gathered Sept. 28 to celebrate the launch of the university’s largest comprehensive campaign in its history, Mason Now: Power the Possible. The event at Merten Hall was dedicated to the people who work every day to drive Mason’s success: the university’s faculty and staff.

On Friday, Sept. 29, George Mason �鶹���� welcomed more than 70 emergency management professionals from federal, state, local, and higher education organizations throughout the mid-Atlantic.

Kyin (Jenny) Thi, personnel operations analyst in the Office of the Provost, is October Employee of the Month.

As employer engagement consultant with �鶹���� Career Services at George Mason �鶹����, Jneva Norfleet connects organizations with qualified talent from Mason, helping Mason students and graduates achieve their career goals. Outside work, Norfleet hones other talents of her own—she is a Toastmasters champion and a spoken word artist who shares her poetry to inspire others.

After attending university-wide Mason Chooses Kindness events at George Mason �鶹����, colleagues in the School of Business saw an opportunity to apply the same principles within their unit. This “goodwill team” highlights and encourages acts of kindness and well-being across the school.

Olga O’Brien started her journey at George Mason �鶹���� as an international student from Prague on a volleyball scholarship. As a student, she started working as a part-time volleyball instructor at the Freedom Center in 1999—the year the center first opened. And she has been there ever since.

Robert Matz, dean of Mason Korea, will conclude his term at the end of the Spring 2024 semester and return to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences as a faculty member of the Department of English.
